Who is Pan-kun the Genius Chimp?

This little chimpanzee, Pan-kun, who appears on the Japanese TV show “Tensai! Shimura Dōbutsuen”  (traslated as Genius! Shimura Zoo) has captured the imagination of the world through his videos on Youtube.  Often he is accompanied by his bulldog friend, James.

He was born October 21st, 2001. In the wild chimpanzees rarely live even 40 years, but in captivity it can be as high as 60 years. We have many years of Pankun to look forward to!

He now does daily shows at Cuddly Dominion a zoo in Kyūshū Japan.

It is our hope that someone will syndicate his shows in English to the United States. In the meantime, we will have to watch the clips that show up on the internet. A few of our favorites are below.
